The hunt for macarons!!

I think macarons seems to have caused a massive wave nowadays, just like how cupcakes did back then..knowing me that always craved for sweet things..I'm easily fall into this wave:)

I've been reading about the macaroons in KL..and found this review about macarons in G Tower (Jalan Tun Razak, next to Tabung Haji) and today, I decided to check out new gym in town which is in G Tower itself, so of course..among other things I really look forward to is trying out their macarons ..:)

The shop called Babycakes, it's a tiny shop under the stairs..just at the entrance of GTower. The owner is a sweet young lady who runs the shop..according to people the macarons baked by her family or maybe she, herself..(I forgot to ask her if that is true:))

Price wise, I think quite reasonable compared to the standard price in KL, range from RM2.50 to RM3.50 depending on the flavor.

I think, I like these better compared to the one @Whisk, Empire Gallery. But both are sweet (perhaps too sweet to some people), my favorite are Chocolate and Caramel, even the owner recommended the same flavors.

The box 0f 8pieces cost me RM22.30.

Tamarind Hill

it's next to menara KFC, Jalan sultan Ismail in front of life centre

The parking lot, just next to the stairs.

the stairs, taking from the restaurant's entrance

I was very much dissapointed when I tried to book a dinner slot with hubby on his birthday @Tamarind Hill and found out the restaurant ceased operations at their original Ampang outlet, the place meant so much as it was where hubby popped the question (well not really a proposal, he gave me a ring, when I asked for what..he was nervous and told me..it's nothing..just a ring..duhhhh!!!)

You need to walk up this stairs to get the restaurant, it's on the hill

NEO - another restaurant you will find on your way up to Tamarind Hill

the view from the restaurant, the buildings along Jalan Sultan Ismail.

but they've now found a new location right smack in the city centre.

Earlier on, I was a bit sceptical to go to this new spot as it might not be as nice as the previous one, where it was a well renovated old bungalow surrounded by the exotic big trees...

but the new place is not dissapointing as well. If you are looking for a makan place in the city centre surrounded by trees..this is it...the setting is romantic and cozy with dim light..I was told every valentines' day this place is fully booked a month in advance.

Butter prawn
Deep fried Grouper with sauce

Kailan

Beef - couldnt remember exactly the name, but it taste like steak with green curry sauce

The seafood tomyam with tiger prawn - GLORIOUS according to hubby:)

You have the option either to stay indoor or outdoor, mind you..at night you might be bitten by mosquito..but fret not..they will provide the mosquito coil:)

we are very satisfied with the food..it's yummy and you will feel it's worth to splurge once in a while for a special occasion, especially when it's my birthday:)

To get there, turn left right before Menara KFC on Jalan Sultan Ismail. You will see steps leading up to the restaurant on the hill

Enjoy some of the photos..I managed to snap last night..of course hubby wasnt too approving when I was busy taking photos especially at a fine dining place.

Are you planning for a party?

I love the dress cookies..yummy and initially I dont have the heart to eat it:)

A close friend of mine threw her birthday party last weekend, another good friend of us helped to organize..she's renowned as a good planner and knows good venues:) Initially they were planning to have it at Delicious@ Dua Residency which the place is normally packed on weekends and to have a section close for party is a bit challenging...hence after a few considerations Bijou in Mont Kiara Damai was chosen, good choice I must say..

The theme is pink and white, the food was good...yummyyy..the cupcakes were among my favorite:) and I enjoyed good companies..mostly close friends who are not in contact for months now..great catch up sessions:)

among the gifts from the guests:))

great desserts

spacious and nicely decorated for 50 guests

decorated in pink and white

Yummy foods

On top of great party..great door gift too...among the gift is a new key ring for my car...now I can put aside the old one to give way for my new Marc Jacobs:)

bye-bye old key ring, now can take a back seat..I have a new Marc Jacobs:))

until next time..take care peeps!

My favorite eating place - CPK

Yesterday after work..I met up with my girl friends as Mr Hubby was away in Singapore...(the cat's away, the mice will play...muahhhhaahaaaa!!!!)

Anyway back to my story..we had dinner at CPK..my all-time favorite..any of my friends would know if they ever asked me to decide where to eat..be it, lunch or dinner that's the place I would choose..and I have the discount card some more..hee..hee..so I can convinced them..I can get discount maaaaa!!..the card has never expired as I will make sure I'll renew it each time (my saving quest..haa..haaa)..but I fail to convince my husband to like this place..so friends are the only chance I have...but heyyyy..that's what friends are for, right???

BBQ Chicken salad

I was not a vegetable eater before..let alone salads..but CPK changes everything, ever since I tasted its BBQ Chicken salad ..I started to like salads..and vegetables...(isn't that considered as life changing experience??;)

If you love pizza and steak..you will love carne asada..they used to have "philly cheese steak..which i voted as the best pizza in world (my world obviously:)) but they stopped..I was devastated knowing that, only recently they introduced Carne Asada..which I find some resemblance of philly cheese steak..

Carne Asada

Another favorite is their RED VELVET..which is soooo yummyyy..(I didn't order that yesterday so no pic) those days while my office was in KLCC and I need to satisfy my sweet tooth in the late afternoon..I would rang them up to pack the cake for me and i'll go down to their restaurant to pick it up..I can finish it all by myself...yummmmm (imagining the cake..makes me craving for one)

Ok peeps...sorry for the lengthy review..I'm sure you guys been there many times..but I I just want to share some of my favorites..:)

until then....

A good place to chill with the girlfriends

If you are looking for a place to chill or having a "cik kiah session" I would like to recommend this place for hi-tea - Carcosa Sri Negara, not so much of the food as it's very ordinary even Delicious has better hi-tea..but it's the ambience..very quiet, green surrounding (hutan belantara) with the english deco..it's totally a good spot for cik kiah session;)

I went there last weekend to treat my BFFs dan as belated birthday treat to one of them..these are the people yg memang really understand me, my clumsiness and these are the people (tak ramai pun 2-3 org je)yg I will call to share my happiness, frustration etc..these also cik kiahs yg share the same interest with me about handbags, shoes yg tebalkan muka melawat boutiques2 in klcc, keluar masuk every other day (but tak beli pun..) and we will MMS each other kalau dapat "hasil tangkapan baru" let it be shoes, bag ke baju ke scarves ke..saja nak menayang to each other and share the excitement..... dan we can tell each other off kalau fashion sense tu out or ngeri mata memandang:) of all, my fashion sense laa yg tak boleh pakai sangat..he..hee..

So back to this place..price wise quite ok considering the 5* hospitality, food wise so-so..portion is quite small..u better have a good lunch before coming here sebab food dia sikit dan takde additional food like pasta ke mee ke atau food yang biasa available during hi-tea buffet.
They have choices of English (comes with scone) and Malay. English RM60++, Malay RM65++

So in case you plan for girls day out on weekends or with your other half and looking for quiet place to chill while sipping tea at the verandah overlooking the lush green tropical forest..this is the place. Enjoy some of the views I managed to snap the other day:)
