Eat Pray Love

I love this pic, I feel like having ice-cream while sitting on the bench like this:)

I've been meaning to read this book for a very long time which is as soon as I know Julia Roberts is filming the movie. Until recently when the movie was out in the cinema, hubby bought it (I asked him to) to compensate me for not being able to watch it on the cinema

A few friends went to watch but unfortunately I couldnt join them for some reason, but a few of them giving good review and having watch "Behind the scenes" on the E! made me more determined to get a pirated copy.

Finally on Hari Raya Haji's eve I called my regular pirated DVD supplier and went to get it. Hubby was working, my kids followed nenek to the masjid for takbir raya... (I couldn't join them) so I took the opportunity to watch my long awaited DVD

i love her in saree

The scenes in Bali..really make me want to go there..like..NOW!!

awwww...the hot James Franco:)

I think he resembles Gerard Butler:)

the resort in Ubud...damn nice!!

I must say I LOVED it!!! I know a lot of people find it boring and slow..but having read the book earlier I must say I look forward to see it materialized on a big screen.

If you read the book then you can expect the movie will be a bit slow..In fact when I posted on my FB status, more than half comments said the movie is boring

Basically, its about the author who just went through divorce, travel from Italy, India and Bali, the story is about her experience in those places, thanks to Julia for making the movie interesting...

I love the characters...even David (James Franco) which I dont quite like in the book turned out to be such a hottie..and I didnt know that Christine Hakim also acted in this movie as Wayan (I love her tie-dye t-shirt, i have the same exact design bought in Bali last year for RM10)

My friend who just went through divorce find the movie was interesting, in fact she cried during the movie as she said she can relate to the character.

Overall, i just think this movie is a good one to promote Bali..as I watched it I regret for choosing Phuket instead of Bali for our yearly anniversary trip:(

I found out that the place where she stayed there is Ubud Hanging gardens and also four seasons in Jimbaran.

Ubud Hanging gardens...

Tamarind Hill

it's next to menara KFC, Jalan sultan Ismail in front of life centre

The parking lot, just next to the stairs.

the stairs, taking from the restaurant's entrance

I was very much dissapointed when I tried to book a dinner slot with hubby on his birthday @Tamarind Hill and found out the restaurant ceased operations at their original Ampang outlet, the place meant so much as it was where hubby popped the question (well not really a proposal, he gave me a ring, when I asked for what..he was nervous and told me..it's nothing..just a ring..duhhhh!!!)

You need to walk up this stairs to get the restaurant, it's on the hill

NEO - another restaurant you will find on your way up to Tamarind Hill

the view from the restaurant, the buildings along Jalan Sultan Ismail.

but they've now found a new location right smack in the city centre.

Earlier on, I was a bit sceptical to go to this new spot as it might not be as nice as the previous one, where it was a well renovated old bungalow surrounded by the exotic big trees...

but the new place is not dissapointing as well. If you are looking for a makan place in the city centre surrounded by trees..this is it...the setting is romantic and cozy with dim light..I was told every valentines' day this place is fully booked a month in advance.

Butter prawn
Deep fried Grouper with sauce

Kailan

Beef - couldnt remember exactly the name, but it taste like steak with green curry sauce

The seafood tomyam with tiger prawn - GLORIOUS according to hubby:)

You have the option either to stay indoor or outdoor, mind you..at night you might be bitten by mosquito..but fret not..they will provide the mosquito coil:)

we are very satisfied with the food..it's yummy and you will feel it's worth to splurge once in a while for a special occasion, especially when it's my birthday:)

To get there, turn left right before Menara KFC on Jalan Sultan Ismail. You will see steps leading up to the restaurant on the hill

Enjoy some of the photos..I managed to snap last night..of course hubby wasnt too approving when I was busy taking photos especially at a fine dining place.

Are you planning for a party?

I love the dress cookies..yummy and initially I dont have the heart to eat it:)

A close friend of mine threw her birthday party last weekend, another good friend of us helped to organize..she's renowned as a good planner and knows good venues:) Initially they were planning to have it at Delicious@ Dua Residency which the place is normally packed on weekends and to have a section close for party is a bit challenging...hence after a few considerations Bijou in Mont Kiara Damai was chosen, good choice I must say..

The theme is pink and white, the food was good...yummyyy..the cupcakes were among my favorite:) and I enjoyed good companies..mostly close friends who are not in contact for months now..great catch up sessions:)

among the gifts from the guests:))

great desserts

spacious and nicely decorated for 50 guests

decorated in pink and white

Yummy foods

On top of great party..great door gift too...among the gift is a new key ring for my car...now I can put aside the old one to give way for my new Marc Jacobs:)

bye-bye old key ring, now can take a back seat..I have a new Marc Jacobs:))

until next time..take care peeps!

Date Night

As usual we are always behind when it comes to movies...but we are trying to catch up:) last weekend was our movie night..trying to catch Iron Man2 at Gardens..good seats only available wednesday onwards..ok???? no choice but to go to KLCC to watch Date Night as they don't show Date Night anymore at Premier Gardens

I know Mr Hubby was a bit reluctant to watch Date Night..but since I was the one doing the booking he was left with no choice....so off we went to KLCC

This movie is about a typical married couple who lives including their weekly date nights of dinner have become routine. So in the attempt to reignite the sparks they visit a trendy Manhattan restaurant where they use other couple's identity to get a table..which later turns into a chaos and gone awry.

Overall..I dont find it as amusing as the reviews said...it's a bit slow at the beginning..the funny part mostly after 40 mins or so..but for us who have nothing else to watch we find it quite entertaining..but I wouldnt say it's the funniest:)

But, my husband and I can totally relate to this couple experience..the routine and all..yes I guess that part can be quite amusing:)

ok peeps..take care

Review - the Jacket

Ok..this movie was from 2005, I'm waaaayyyyyy left behind sometimes..esp if those movies were not shown in our local cinemas.

I dont normally watched DVDs...95% of the movies we watched are either at the cinemas or ASTRO, reason being..we (my husband and I) couldn't give 100% concentration due to our piranhas kids who constantly seeking our undivided attentions..so even on ASTRO we only watched movies showing at night..when their 'batteries' are running low so we can have more concentration:)

Last week, remember a friend of mine who just dumped his long-time boyfriend? yess..she handed me a bag full of old DVDs which they considered as "harta sepencarian" which she desperately needs to dispose..so we divided among 3 friends, as usual I get to do it first leaving the left overs to the other unlucky two :( (pat..pat siku lipat..sapa cepat dia dapat...muaahaaahaaaaa!!!)

I'm a sucker for thriller and horror movies..so among those stories I decided to watched 'THE JACKET' as from the cover it looks like a horror movie to me...

The story is about a gulf war veteran who's wrongly sent to a mental intitution after apparently shoot a police officer which he simply does not remember. At the ward, he had to go through a treament which he's putting on "the jacket" which made him goes on journey to the future

The storyline was quite slow..but as it progressed I got hooked especially seeing the chemistry between Adrien Brody and Keira Knightley:) ..(so you peeps must be asking..which is the horror part?) yesss..basically it's not horror at all..they categorized this as 'thriller' even that I do not find much thrill except the chemistry of the two..:)

The verdict :

I love both Adrien and Keira (I was never a fan of Adrien Brody..i find this nose is too prominent..until I watched this movie..hikssss) and by the way, love the ending toooo...made it worth my 2 hours

she's flawlessly beautiful, isn't she?

until next time...

Monday is not so blues afterall

I had a good day today..simply because my company is giving us a day off, part of 'labor day' as the management decided to bring forward the leave to today:) yeeeyyyy!!!!!!

It's even better as the shopping malls and banks are not crowded, partly due to only us from 'XYZ' are on our day off..another yeeyyyy!!!

But I had to wake up early to send the kids to school....since I still owe my husband his 'Jake's' lunch/dinner..so I thought better do it today as the kids won't be around..(my parents in law will pick them up after school)

Basically today, I spent 3/4 of my day in Bangsar..we went to Jake's (our fav steak house..yummm!!their steaks are the best in town..I guarantee you:) ) and I did my eyebrows threading..(ouchhh!!! it's painful..regardless of doing it 100 of times..:( women...can go extremely far to look beautiful..what else can I say..)

But of all..I love Laura Mercier for giving me free sample of their foundations..thanks to Ms ladyL for her review on Laura Mercier and get me introduced to this superb stuff:).... so I decided to give a try;)my Bobby brown is finishing..I even had to use the cotton bud to reach the bottom part of the bottle..so I can say it's not finishing but finished..so I have another week to buy...let me try the sample..so far it looks promising..can even replace my Ms Brown;)
I must admit I'm very fussy..the foundation has to look as natural as it can be while can hide my flaws.. tough job being my foundation...muahhaahaaa..
I was a bit confused as they have a few ranges which i'm not familiar compared to BB....I think the sales assistant ended up recommending me the different type from what I had in mind earlier on....

By the way..in order not to make Mr Hubby cranky..(he hates shopping..let alone window shopping) so I asked him to do his work in starbucks while I wander around BV alone..hopping from 1 shop to another. My final destinations was MPH... with lists of books I need to find (solely based on my weak memory)

- books recommended by Cik Ermayum (a few..I think)
- book recommended by Ms Jabberholic..(something to do with birkin)

So..u can imagine me with pretty low memory trying to figure out which books to buy..I'm telling you at least 1 hour I was scouting for those books and trying to match the description I got from our dear friends' blogs..until my phone rang with loud Glee's song.."are u done yet? dont tell me I need to bring the pick-up to pick you up" hubby said sarcastically..which means I only have less than a mili second to make my way out and meet him at starbucks...so gone the books..and my mission failed...out of 1 1/2 hrs in MPH..i only manage to grab these..

my must have mags

It seems I need to make another trip to kinokuniya or MPH soon...

until then..

Review - Nails extreme

I'm supposed to blog about this 2 weeks ago..keep forgetting until I stumble upon these photos while cleaning up my D drive (gettin ready to leave for new office..yeyyyyyy!!)

My bff has been asking me to try Meni & Pedi at this place since donkey years ago (exagerating:)) and normally her recommendations never fail me:) the place is a bit out of my area hence I keep delaying and instead going to places nearby each time

So that particular weekend..as part of my treat for her birthday we went to this place together...

My review :

Location : the parking is a bit of problem as it's at the TAIPAN where it's famous for insufficient parking spots...we ended up parked at the nearby indoor parking.

The service : I like it very much..very thorough..and professional unlike Kuku bar in bangsar where the indonesian manucurists were gossiping with each other as if you dont exist:(

It also provides massage chair where you can relax while they are doing your pedicure..heaven! Since I was there with my Bff, we requested to be seated next to each other so that we do not need to shout while gossiping:)

And you know what? They even have manicure for kids..I planned to bring Allysha next time around..she will love this..everytime I went home with shiny nails..she will noticed at a first glance I entered the house

The verdict : we enjoyed our sessions!! money well spent, I dont mind coming here again

As expected..the moment allysha saw my nails..she made me be her manucurist "mommy buat manicure ye? kakak nak jugak..tolong buat sampai shine ok?".......sighhhh....susah ada anak dara ni..

until then..
