Movie Review - Thor

  1. I borong quite a bit of pirated DVDs during our trip, in Penang last 2 weeks
  2. Kids are quite clingy these days to leave them with atuk and nenek on weekends
  3. The kids favorite babysitter aka my cousin was busy with her exams that she couldn't sleepover on weekends
But, finally last weekends she finished her exam so she came by and of course mommy and Baba wouldn't miss the chance for a date night..ha..haaa....immediately went to buy the tickets..yippeee!!!!

But we didn't have much choice either because we have watched quite a number of new movies from our pirated copies so between Fast and Furious4 and Thor..we think Thor is a better bet!

True enough..it's not dissapointing at all..quite fun with quite a number of amusing scenes where actions and comedy are in it

It's about Thor, God of thunder , who go against his father wishes and caused his upset father banishes Thor from the kingdom (some other planet) and sends him to the earth.

It's where he met Jane (Natalie Portman). Disoriented on earth with unfamiliar surroundings it provides some very funny moments...so I find this movie very entertaining.

Plus...Thor is quite a hunk, I'm telling you especially when he's shirtless..hee..hee (hubby definitely will not approve this:))

Don't worry, this movie is decent enough if the kids wanna watch, decent than the fast n furious:))

UNKNOWN

Ok...I know this sounds mengada....so bear with me a bit:)) one of the things I like about this movie is the setting, it is in Germany..since we just got back from Germany, the city and the language, the places even the subway and tram sort of click when we watched them last night:))I'm missing Germany suddenly:( Everytime we saw things that reminded us of our recent trip we nodded to each other..thank god no one sitting next to us, or else we would have been chased out..haa..haaa

okeeyyyy..enough said..let's get back to the movie

If you love TAKEN acted by Liam Neeson (the daughter was kidnapped in Paris with her friend and the father went to rescue her) then you will love this movie too..

The story begins as Dr. Martin Harris (Liam Neeson) and his wife have just arrived in Berlin and about to check-in to their hotel when he realized his briefcase has been left at the airport. He took a taxi, which is driven by a gorgeous Bosnian illegal immigrant (played by Diane Kruger), but he never makes it to the airport.

As fate would have it, he met an accident on the highway causing the taxi to swerve and fly off a bridge and into the winter cold river. 4 days later he woke from his coma, and while he remembers his name, his wife doesn't remember him. It even turns out someone else is claiming to be Dr. Martin Harris. The thrill started here..

I must tell you..this is an interesting thriller movie with twisted ending..2 thumbs up!!

Ok, I have another story to share.....

I may have said this thousands of time of how clumsy and forgetful I am.. last night, since my mom's here so we thought we could go out and catch a movie leaving the kids with their Tok Ma...so I booked UNKNOWN at GSC 10.30pm...then we went to Mid Valley, since it's already booked I went straight to the reservation counter giving them my print out reservation number, the boy keyed- in the number and told me "no..it's no here" I told him "try again..this paper is the proof" he kept trying and the screen kept popping up "not available" so I asked him "so now..what? this is the proof of my reservation" so he said "we have no choice you have to buy whatever seats available and it's 9pm show since there's no 10.30 show" so I agreed even 4 rows from the screen. On my way into the cinema I glanced at the paper and you know what????? It's PAVILLION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG I dare not tell my husband...if I did..memang kena leter ok?? so I waited until we came out from the cinema and made him promise not to be angry if I reveal a secret..thank god it was a very entertaining movie so he was just laughed when I told him it was my mistake not the GSC's stupid system which I kept telling him earlier on:)) *sigh* nothing new right?

No Strings Attached

If you are feeling romantic..go watch this movie..!!

The moments I saw the preview clip, I was really looking forward to watch this movie, but as usual hubby wont consider any gal's movie and suggested I asked my gal friends instead...but this time around, I managed to convince him since there are no other interesting movies for the past 2 weeks.

On sunday we went to Pavillion, hoping to catch the show in late afternoon, but only left front rows..so the next day, happened to be he's meeting a client at the Gardens so I get him to go purchase the tickets there. It's on valentine's day so I bet many couples were trying to get tickets as well...but hey dont get us wrong..we never celebrated Valentines ever even during courting days:)

'No Strings Attached,' is a romantic comedy starring Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher. 2 very good-looking people who agree to start a "friends with benefits"-type fling. But before they know it, that little crazy thing called love gets in the way...don't let your kids watch this, too many F words uttered.:)

the only little set back is, I dont quite get why Emma is so reluctant to have a serious relationship which I couldn't figure out the real reason except I'm just guessing she doesn't want to get hurt like her mom when her father died..it's not say why she turned out that way

It's a great date movie...I must say..its a well made movie, it touched my heart! you will laugh a lot throughout...Even I can see hubby enjoying the movie as much as I did:) 2 thumbs up from me. I dont mind watching it over and over again...and Natalie Portman is gorgeous..I wish she will take up more of this kind of roles in future.

The Tourist

She looks stunning..except too skinny and bony

dolled up like sophia Loren through-out the movie

Scotland Yard team up with the Interpol hunting Alexander Pearse who happened to steal money from a gangster and owed 744 million pounds of tax to the british government, hence to track him down they had to follow his girlfriend Elise (Angelina Jolie) and both Alexander and Elise trying to play up the police by getting them confused (the police apparently has never seen Alexander the mysterious man) A math teacher Frank Tupelo (Johnny Depp) is their scape-goat who met Elise on the train from France to Venice..I must say it's an interesting movie...2 thumbs up...the twist on this movie..superb:) You have to watch it!!

This also, I think Johnny Depp first romantic role..Edward Scissorhand and Cry Baby doesnt count:)

breathtaking backdrop of Paris and Venice. It is ravishing to the eyes I must say:)

It's just that I wonder why Johnny Depp seems to be "anti-handsome" look? look at all his movies..he never wants to play a role that he can be himself..you know the original drop dead handsome look..why cant he takes roles like Tom Cruise or even Brad Pitt that shows their good look? even in this movie he has the opportunity of doing that pun dia tak nak buat.....but again I think that what made him so coooooll!!!:)

by the way...I think it's hillarious at the end when Elise asked Alexander.."for 20 million you choose this look?"

Despite the interesting story line, I think the chemistry between the two macam takde..tu je lah my only tak puas hati..:) it doesn’t come close to the chemistry in Mr. and Mrs. Smith:(

My kids and the cinema

Hubby has always trying very hard not to go into the cinema with the kids..but this time around he said he wants to give a try..his new year resolution I guess:) but I pre-warned him "please bring along your adventurous mood" you know in case he will spoil the kids' mood

It's been a while since my last movie especially we are maidless now so the kids had to stay with atuk and nenek when mommy and baba sneaked out for a movie.

The week before we went to watch movie at the Gardens, unfortunately most of the good movies that we were hoping to watch i.e Social Network etc were no longer available..left with no choice but Fair Game (real story about a CIA agent and the propaganda of Bush's administration to attack IRAQ) and Gulliver's travel..since I'm not a fan of Jack Black..I told him..why not this time we watch Fair Game and wait for the kids for Gulliver's travel

As expected...my kids are the type couldn't sit still..believe it or not the only movie that can glue them to the screen is HORROR movie...yess..peeps..I know..it's not good for kids..but they lllloooooved horror movie..just like me:))

So..u just imagine..how distractful it was for us...especially one of them wore the shoes with lights.. (when you move or knock them then the lights will blink) and i had to stop her from doing that as it will distract the other audiences..and then they complained it was too cold...(even with the jackets) luckily I forced the twins to wear diapers..bad mommy:(

So far....only my brother has so much patient bringing my kids out for movies...if not we tried not to.....you know thinking how they will talk and trying to switch seat with each other etc..etc..

the movies was hilarious but I think my gals will love the movies about Disney princess or horror movie more..anyhow, at the end my Aryya even clapped her hands:) if you asked if their Baba wants to bring them out anytime soon for a movie..naaaahhhh..dont think so:) so they have to wait for Ayah Mie (my brother).

Happy new year aunties:) mommy kita dah tak nak bawak kita watch movie lagi:((

Eat Pray Love

I love this pic, I feel like having ice-cream while sitting on the bench like this:)

I've been meaning to read this book for a very long time which is as soon as I know Julia Roberts is filming the movie. Until recently when the movie was out in the cinema, hubby bought it (I asked him to) to compensate me for not being able to watch it on the cinema

A few friends went to watch but unfortunately I couldnt join them for some reason, but a few of them giving good review and having watch "Behind the scenes" on the E! made me more determined to get a pirated copy.

Finally on Hari Raya Haji's eve I called my regular pirated DVD supplier and went to get it. Hubby was working, my kids followed nenek to the masjid for takbir raya... (I couldn't join them) so I took the opportunity to watch my long awaited DVD

i love her in saree

The scenes in Bali..really make me want to go there..like..NOW!!

awwww...the hot James Franco:)

I think he resembles Gerard Butler:)

the resort in Ubud...damn nice!!

I must say I LOVED it!!! I know a lot of people find it boring and slow..but having read the book earlier I must say I look forward to see it materialized on a big screen.

If you read the book then you can expect the movie will be a bit slow..In fact when I posted on my FB status, more than half comments said the movie is boring

Basically, its about the author who just went through divorce, travel from Italy, India and Bali, the story is about her experience in those places, thanks to Julia for making the movie interesting...

I love the characters...even David (James Franco) which I dont quite like in the book turned out to be such a hottie..and I didnt know that Christine Hakim also acted in this movie as Wayan (I love her tie-dye t-shirt, i have the same exact design bought in Bali last year for RM10)

My friend who just went through divorce find the movie was interesting, in fact she cried during the movie as she said she can relate to the character.

Overall, i just think this movie is a good one to promote Bali..as I watched it I regret for choosing Phuket instead of Bali for our yearly anniversary trip:(

I found out that the place where she stayed there is Ubud Hanging gardens and also four seasons in Jimbaran.

Ubud Hanging gardens...

Movie Review - Takers

Ok peeps in case you are planning for a movie night this weekend, and looking for an action movie, I think you can consider Takers.

I must say it's not superb..in my case I wanted to watch 'Life As We Know It' by Katherine Heigl And Josh Duhamel, but as expected hubby would opposed anything he dubbed as "gal's movie" so leaving me with no choice but "The man's movie"......to kill time on weekends it's not bad afterall, It could be better I think, with the casts like Chris Brown, Tip Harris, Paul Walker, Hayden Christensen, Idris Elba, Matt Dillon and Zoe Saldana.

The movie is about a group of highly professional bank robbers, the charitable villains who allocate some of the robbery money for donation and made you (the audiences) impossible to hate them, with cute faces like Paul Walker, Hayden Christensen and Chris Brown, it's even harder:)). which ended up I took their side against the cop, the cop is played by Matt Dillon

Check out their rides...! Hubby couldn't take his eyes off the black Range Rover!

And I almost forgot about Chris Brown and Rihanna's violent episode which ended up with battery charges and all..he definitely can act.

I'm not sure about you peeps, but I found myself confused between Paul Walker and Hayden Christensen, i think they look alike.. and I often find myself mixed up between the two, or it's just me? but both are good looking!!!:)

Zoe Saldana (from the Avatar) don't you think she resembles Jada Pinkett?

Overall, i give 3 stars out of 5
!!

RED - movie review

Saturday night is my movie night with hubby and last week we decided to go watch RED.
Red stands for Retired, Extremely Dangerous but it could just as well stand for 'really enjoyable diversion':)

This is the movie with a bunch of megastars with names like Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren and Mary-Louise Parker.

It's an action comedy.I'm telling you.... if you are planning to watch a movie this weekend..please..please consider this one. Very entertaining:) and..it has a little bit of romance between Bruce and Mary, quite interesting to see Bruce willis in these scenes:)

Bruce willis may not one of those drop dead handsome, but I've always consider him as one of those with nice build, and you can see that in this movie..he looks a bit old now..but still look good for his age:))

The movie is about a retired CIA agent Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) was instructed to be killed by an anonymous in CIA itself and he began to gather his old team to find out why they are being targeted by killers.

Overall..it's entertaining and I give this movie 2 thumbs up!!!!

What did you notice from the Iron Man2?

Picture A - check out the strap of her handbag:)

Picture B - check out on her table.gold buckle..see really close if u need to:)

We decided to celebrate mother's day by bringing the kids out for movie, we had their sport's day in the morning, forced them to sleep in the afternoon, then we went out late afternoon for late lunch and movie.

They've been pastering us to bring them for Iron Man 2 as the cousins had been talking about how great the Red Iron Man is..initially we thought the movie is not appropriate for the girly gals, but again..what a heck..!

Of course there were a bit of distractions here and there as they will start asking all sort of questions, until I told them, the policemen are watching them..just a matter of them to arrest as they are not supposed to talk in the cinema...thank God..they believe me :)....and soon after they complained about how cold the place is..etc...etc..until the very last minutes..in fact the last 5 minutes before the show ended, one of them wanted to pee..I had no choice but to wear her diaper, as I dont want to interrupt the people behind us by standing while movie was at the climax alasan..alasan..

Despite the distractions..I totally couldn't resist to focus on handbags....did you guys notice?

Picture A and Picture B..both are black handbags..

Picture A : at first I thought it's Prada neverfull but in black leather..but later on I found out it's actually Ferragamo bag..isn't it gorgeous?

Picture B : it's Marc Jacob..yummyyyy

Ferragamo Tote

Marc Jacob

I seriously strained my eyeballs to focus on the handbags during those scenes but failed to distinguish, what a dissapointment..which soon after I got home, I googled to find out..of course my husband would just rolled his eyes disapproved:(

ok..peeps..enjoy the beauty for these arm candies....*drool*

Date Night

As usual we are always behind when it comes to movies...but we are trying to catch up:) last weekend was our movie night..trying to catch Iron Man2 at Gardens..good seats only available wednesday onwards..ok???? no choice but to go to KLCC to watch Date Night as they don't show Date Night anymore at Premier Gardens

I know Mr Hubby was a bit reluctant to watch Date Night..but since I was the one doing the booking he was left with no choice....so off we went to KLCC

This movie is about a typical married couple who lives including their weekly date nights of dinner have become routine. So in the attempt to reignite the sparks they visit a trendy Manhattan restaurant where they use other couple's identity to get a table..which later turns into a chaos and gone awry.

Overall..I dont find it as amusing as the reviews said...it's a bit slow at the beginning..the funny part mostly after 40 mins or so..but for us who have nothing else to watch we find it quite entertaining..but I wouldnt say it's the funniest:)

But, my husband and I can totally relate to this couple experience..the routine and all..yes I guess that part can be quite amusing:)

ok peeps..take care

Clash of the Titans

It's a bit way too late for the review as I'm sure you peeps have watched this long time ago....memang a bit ketinggalan this time. All because my husband's mood was dampened due to my "forgetfulness" (remember the posting about nyanyuk?)

Saturday night routinely is my movie night with hubby, our shows typically 9pm and above..to make sure it's almost bed time for the kids..hence we will not feeling guilty:)
This time, we left slightly early as my youngest sister was around hence the kids were enjoying her company and didnt even bother to ask where we were heading..thank god!! the tickets mostly sold out as we forgot to purchase earlier , in the morning we went to KLCC which we had planned to buy the tickets..instead we were busy with other things..halfway through the journey home we realized we didnt even buy the tickets...(nyanyuk as usual)

No choice but to watch the midnight show...others were sold out

I didn't enjoy the movie much...I guess a lot of people rated this movie as dissappointing..no big names except Liam Neeson and Sam Worthington (Avatar)

It's about the immortal gods of Ancient Greece.......and if no other movie to watch, you can go ahead watch this..

until next time..
